Should I register as an Individual, Small Group, or Team?
If you are looking to meet new people while playing register as an individual. Players who register as an individual will be placed either on a team comprised of all registered individuals or a team that needs extra players.
If you want to play with certain people, but don't have enough players to fill a full team (recommended amount is 12), each player should register as an individual and list the names of the people you want to play with in your comments on the online registration form.
If you have enough players to field a team, it is recommended to register as a team.
Where do we play?
Games take place in the greater Honolulu area on both indoor and outdoor courts.
Are there different divisions?
We try to accommodate 2 different divisions:
- Very Casual - Great for "newbies" and those that want to keep it "chill" and don't have any competitive spirit (least competitive) or strong ball skills.
- Casual - Casual play, not too easy yet not too competitive. This division is good for teams that have played before, but are not competitive.
We cannot guarantee that you or your team will be in the division you register in (we will do our best).
What are the rules?
This is a fun recreational league, so we want everyone to have fun, and stay safe. The key points are:
- This is a social league. Relax, smile, meet some people, and have fun.
- Please treat players and referees with respect. Referees will be judging your Sportsmanship; be gracious whether you’re winning or losing. Any aggressive behavior will not be tolerated and could result in suspension or ejection from the league.
- Format is 6-on-6. Maximum 4 men, minimum 2 women on the court
- Teams have 42 mins of time to play 1 match, consisting of 3 games to 21 points. Teams must win by 2 and there is a cap at 23 points.
- All-Rally Scoring Rules.
- If attacking a ball completely above the height of the net, male players must jump from behind the attack line (they may land in front)
- Carrying is illegal. A carry is any use of an open hand(s) while making contact with the ball that is not in a firm manner
- Absolutely NO Alcohol or animals on park/gym property. Violation of this rule will result in suspension of the league
